Joshua D. Smentek is an associate in the Dallas office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Smentek represents insurance companies, insurers, and other businesses in state and federal courts in the areas of insurance defense and insurance fraud cases, Special Investigative Unit (SIU) litigation and coverage, general liability, personal injury, premises liability, non-subscriber injury claims, and tort and contract litigation claims.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Smentek practiced in the areas of complex civil litigation involving insurance fraud and defense with various law offices in Texas where he represented clients and insurance companies' positions to mediators and plaintiff's counsel to negotiate settlement and resolution of claims. He was also team lead for over 20 attorneys in litigation proceedings as an eDiscovery attorney where he worked with various stages of the eDiscovery process, providing advice and expertise to help the client achieve litigation goals.
Mr. Smentek received his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law in May 2014 and Bachelor of Science in Insurance and Risk Management from Illinois State University in December 2009.
He is licensed to practice law in Texas.
