Julie L. Swindell is a partner in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice on insurance defense litigation, general liability, and insurance coverage and bad faith matters involving first-party property defense under commercial and homeowner policies and third party liability claims stemming from coverage disputes, policy interpretation, and the application of policy exclusions arising from a wide variety of insurance products including general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, and professional liability. Ms. Swindell defends property insurers on claims related to windstorm and hurricane, mold, water and flood, fire and arson, burglary and theft, and personal injury. Her practice is also emphasized in wrongful death matters and catastrophic injuries arising from various alleged torts, negligent security, and other negligence and tort claims.
Prior to joining QPWB, she was a partner with an insurance defense litigation law firm in Miami, Florida where he handled first party property claims and general liability defense. Previously, Ms. Swindell was a foreclosure defense attorney renegotiating terms of distressed mortgages on behalf of homeowners.
Ms. Swindell received her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, Miami, Florida in 2008 and Bachelor of Science in 2004 from the Fashion Institute of Technology, State University of New York in Manhattan, graduating with a major in international trade and marketing. While in law school, she was a recurring member of the Dean's List and served as a certified legal intern with the Felony Division of the Miami-Dade Public Defender.
Ms. Swindell is licensed to practice law in Florida and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
