Karen M. Shimonsky

Karen M. Shimonsky, Esq.,is the co-managing partner of the Denver, Colorado office at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Shimonsky is a civil defense litigator who focuses primarily on health care defense litigation. In the health care field, Ms. Shimonsky handles medical malpractice defense litigation, long-term care defense litigation, dental malpractice, and professional liability defense. She also handles health care regulatory matters including representing practitioners in board matters and providing support with regulatory compliance. Outside of the health care industry, Ms. Shimonsky handles a variety of civil defense litigation including products liability and life science defense litigation, commercial litigation, and general liability. She has experience trying cases to verdict in several jurisdictions across the county. Ms. Shimonsky devotes a portion of her practice to appellate law. Ms. Shimonsky also supports several large health care companies in an outside general counsel role providing both risk management and litigation support.

She is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Florida and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Ms. Shimonsky's professional affiliations include the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Women's Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and The Florida Bar.

Outside of work, Ms. Shimonsky is passionate about volunteering her time to organizations that assist children in the foster care system.
