Kathleen M. Mulholland is a partner in the New York office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Mulholland practices in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage and general liability representation for self-insured companies and third-party administrators at both the state and federal levels from inception of case through settlement, arbitration, mediation and trial. Her practice is emphasized in the areas of construction defect and labor and employment law, motor vehicle negligence, trucking and transportation, premises liability and negligent security matters, and product liability. Ms. Mulholland regularly works with scientific and medical experts including engineers, scientists, physicians, accident reconstruction specialists, and other technical experts in the defense of catastrophic personal injury and property damage cases.

Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Mulholland was a name partner and founder of her New York City law practice established in 2004 where she concentrated on appeals involving high exposure construction/labor cases including products liability, premises liability, commercial automobile, and employment law matters. Previously, she was a partner with a mid-size insurance defense litigation firm with offices in New York and New Jersey. Ms. Mulholland commenced her legal career at a large medical malpractice law firm specializing in defending physicians and large New York hospitals.

For over 30 years, Ms. Mulholland has practiced in a wide variety of legal areas involving first party property and third-party liability claims. She has championed all types of personal injury cases.

Automobile Liability, Trucking and Train Accidents - Handle claims arising from catastrophic injury, personal injury, wrongful death, and property loss involving insurance coverage and no fault / personal injury protection (PIP) matters in the representation of sanitation companies and their employees, trucking equipment failures, driver qualification, accidents involving dumpsters, and waste haulers.

Construction Litigation - Represent New York Labor Law personal injury matters for more than 30 years. Handle all aspects of emergency accident investigation including construction and design practice, technical issues, and insurance risk transfer issues. Experience in establishing defenses to vicarious liability during motion practice and at trial. Guide construction preplanning, project safety, emergency response and risk transfer.

Labor and Employment - Defend New York labor law matters on behalf of general contractors, and subcontractors involving construction claims, time delay, bodily injury, third party actions, and scaffold law claims. Representation of claims related to wage and hour, overtime compensation, employment discrimination and workplace harassment.

Premises Liability - Represent commercial establishments including hotels, casinos, restaurants, malls, department stores, grocery stores, schools and commercial landlords in premises liability involving slip and falls, negligent security, failure to warn, criminal conduct of third parties, false imprisonment, elevator/escalator/revolving door accidents, dangerous animal liability, and other claims.

Products Liability - Successfully defended a wide variety of matters for manufacturers and distributors of commercial and consumer products.

Ms. Mulholland received her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 1992 and Bachelor of Science from DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois in 1998. While in law school, she was a member of the Law Review.

She is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York; U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Districts, and United States Supreme Court.
