Kir-Sheng "Kirk" Chen is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where he brings more than a decade of experience handling complex civil litigation, including construction, premises liability, and commercial claims. Mr. Chen has successfully defended high-exposure matters for national engineering firms, international rental companies, and large-scale retailers, including multi-million-dollar cases involving millions of documents and multiple jurisdictions.
Mr. Chen successfully defended complex litigation involving over 2.4 million documents and $26 million in exposure on behalf of a national engineering firm. His experience also includes representing a large national retailer and an international rental company in significant premises liability matters. In addition, Mr. Chen has secured favorable outcomes in a wide range of cases, including premises, construction, and auto liability, across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. His ability to manage large-scale discovery, coordinate with multiple parties in high-stakes matters across multiple jurisdictions makes him a trusted resource for clients navigating complex claims.
In addition to his practice, Mr. Chen has a distinguished military background. He currently holds the rank of Captain in the Florida Army National Guard and previously served as a Battle Watch Captain in Djibouti, Africa, where he oversaw the security of over $2 billion in aircraft assets and led emergency operations. He has been recognized as a Distinguished Honor Graduate and Honor Graduate at the Fort Sill Fires Center of Excellence and the Field Artillery Captain Career Course, respectively.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and a minor in Business from the University of Florida, Mr. Chen earned cum laude honors and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa for his academic excellence. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he developed a strong foundation in litigation and legal analysis.
He is admitted to practice in Florida and in all three U.S. District Courts of Florida: the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts.
