Kostas Smith is an associate in the New Orleans office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Smith brings a diverse background in civil and commercial litigation, having managed high-stakes cases and technical investigations across both state and federal courts. He focuses his practice on general liability, maritime law, commercial litigation, personal injury and wrongful death, environmental law, construction law, insurance coverage, and complex business disputes.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Smith served as an associate attorney at multiple Louisiana-based firms where he handled a diverse caseload involving commercial litigation, maritime litigation, personal injury and wrongful death litigation, and complex business disputes. Besides litigation, his practice included advising clients on corporate formation and managing complex contract negotiations, specifically regarding Master Service Agreements (MSAs), non-disclosure agreements, and commercial leases. His technical background is further strengthened by a unique foundation in integrated production technologies, providing him with a distinct perspective when navigating technical disputes in the maritime and environmental sectors.
A native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Mr. Smith earned his Juris Doctor from the USC Gould School of Law in 2018, where he served as a staff member for the Interdisciplinary Law Journal. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Nicholls State University, which he received in 2015, and an Associate of Applied Science from L E Fletcher Technical Community College, earned in 2012.
Mr. Smith is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Florida.
