Kristin W. Elza is a partner in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. With a focus on insurance defense and appellate law. Ms. Elza brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice having worked in diverse areas of law including intellectual property litigation, premises liability, general litigation, property claims, automotive liability, personal injury, trucking and transportation, construction claims, and medical and legal malpractice defense.
Ms. Elza has spent the past 10 years in Tampa, Florida working for well-known insurance defense firms representing clients throughout Florida. Ms. Elza has played a pivotal role in building and expanding the presence of her prior firms. Her deep understanding of insurance defense law is rooted in her experience handling a wide range of claims, including construction defect, first-party property insurance disputes, legal malpractice, title insurance, premises liability, automotive and trucking negligence, and personal injury defense matters. Additionally, Ms. Elza specializes in reinsurance, insurance coverage analysis, bad faith actions, contract analysis and disputes, large loss, and complex, technical, and fraud cases.
Throughout her career, Ms. Elza has represented corporations, hospitals, doctors, and pharmacies in medical malpractice defense, premises liability defense, products liability defense, and general insurance defense litigation. Her commitment to her clients is evident through her research on various medical conditions across different specialties and her deep understanding of legal issues within a litigation context. Ms. Elza's handles all stages of civil litigation, from pre-suit to post-litigation, and she has extensive experience in both Federal Courts and State courts.
Ms. Elza received her Juris Doctor from University of Missouri, Columbia School of Law in 2007 and her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2004, dual majoring in Psychology and English.
She is licensed to practice law in Florida, Nevada, Illinois, and District of Columbia.
