Laura M. Martinez is a partner in the Denver Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Bringing nearly two decades as an experienced litigator, Ms. Martinez represents individuals and corporations in a broad range of areas that include commercial litigation, contract disputes, real estate litigation, insurance, premises liability, torts, construction defect defense, personal injury, and general civil litigation in state, federal, and administrative courts.
Having spent her career handling all phases of litigation, from initial consultation through trial and arbitration, Ms. Martinez has independently managed large caseloads, and first-chaired bench and jury trials. One of her notable achievements includes helping secure one of the highest jury verdicts awarded in Colorado in 2017. She has successfully resolved high-stakes construction and commercial cases, including matters where plaintiffs sought damages in the tens of millions of dollars, achieving outcomes that avoided significant exposure for her clients. In addition to litigation, she has supervised attorneys and staff, participated in hiring decisions, and led business development and marketing initiatives, reflecting her ability to balance leadership and strategic growth.
Ms. Martinez has represented clients in complex commercial disputes, insurance defense and coverage litigation, and large-scale construction defect cases. Her work includes defending clients against multi-million-dollar claims, obtaining no-pay settlements in cases involving extraordinary alleged damages, and guiding cases through trial, arbitration, and negotiated resolution. These matters highlight her ability to combine courtroom skill with practical problem-solving.
Ms. Martinez earned her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Art in Psychology from the University of Colorado where she was a law scholarship recipient and made the Dean's list.
Ms. Martinez is admitted to practice in Colorado, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
