Lee W. Marcus is a partner in the Orlando Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. As a seasoned litigator and Certified Mediator with more than three decades of practice in Florida, he brings a steady, strategic approach to complex disputes; blending trial, appellate, and alternative dispute resolution experience.
Mr. Marcus concentrates his practice on commercial litigation and transactions, ERISA benefits litigation, insurance coverage and bad faith disputes involving both personal and commercial lines, insurance fraud litigation, and SIU support. His experience also includes employment law, professional malpractice, construction lien law, telecommunications litigation, appellate practice, arbitration and mediation, personal injury, and wrongful death.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Marcus has represented individuals, businesses, and insurers in complex trial and appellate matters throughout Florida and in federal courts. He has built a reputation for handling technically challenging disputes, coverage litigation, and high-exposure cases with precision and sound judgment. In addition to private practice, he has taught employment law and human resource management at the graduate level, further sharpening his ability to explain complicated legal issues in a clear, practical way. His background spans decades of courtroom advocacy, negotiation, and dispute resolution, giving clients confidence that their matters are in experienced hands.
Mr. Marcus has served as counsel in significant and precedent-setting cases, including matters before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Florida Supreme Court and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals for the United States. His work has involved constitutional issues, insurance and coverage disputes, telecommunications litigation, and complex commercial matters.
In 1992, Mr. Marcus earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida College of Law, where he served as Senior Executive Editor of the Florida Law Review. He received his Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany, majoring in English and Business.
Licensed to practice in Florida, Mr. Marcus is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida; and all Florida trial and appellate courts.
Mr. Marcus is a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator in Florida and has held that designation since 2008. He is also certified by the Florida Department of Financial Services as an Insurance Continuing Education Instructor, a role he has held since 2002. He is involved in community service, including long-standing work with Orange County Teen Court and multiple civic and charitable organizations in Central Florida.
