Leslie Richter is a partner in the Farmington Hills Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Since 1989, Ms. Richter has handled numerous cases in the areas of automobile negligence, first-party insurance, third-party insurance, premises liability and construction litigation. In both the Michigan and Federal judicial systems, Ms. Richter has extensive experience with appellate work.
Ms. Richter previously served as in-house counsel for a major insurance carrier, where she managed more than 75 active files at a time, from inception through resolution. Her role sharpened her understanding of claims handling, litigation strategy, and cost-effective case management, particularly in first-party No-Fault, automobile negligence, and premises liability matters.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Richter recovered over $8 million in medical subrogation claims on behalf of national healthcare plans, underscoring her strong negotiation skills and commitment to client results. She also successfully briefed and argued a federal appeal before the Sixth Circuit, which upheld the trial court's ruling in favor of her client a case that remains a standout in her appellate work. She is recognized for securing early case resolutions, including multiple dismissals on dispositive motions and favorable outcomes through mediation and arbitration in high-exposure cases.
Ms. Richter earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Law School and completed a Bachelor of Arts, prior to law school, from the University of Michigan. She is admitted to practice in Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Ms. Richter is active in the legal and local community, serving on the Board of Directors for The Heart of A Child, a nonprofit supporting cardiovascular research at the Children's Hospital of Michigan. She is also a member of the University of Michigan Alumni Association, Chi Omega Alumni Association, and the Detroit Catholic Central High School Mothers Club.
