Lisa Churvis is an associate in the Atlanta office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Churvis is a highly accomplished litigator with a deep background in healthcare law, regulatory compliance, and commercial defense. She focuses her practice on healthcare litigation, insurance defense, general liability, and business and commercial litigation.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Churvis was a healthcare litigation associate at a prominent Atlanta-based firm, where she defended major healthcare providers against False Claims Act litigation, government investigations, and enforcement disputes. In addition to her courtroom advocacy, she served as a trusted advisor to hospitals, long-term care facilities, telehealth networks, and pharmacies. She routinely counseled clients on high-stakes regulatory and operational matters, including Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement disputes, anti-kickback statutes, data privacy obligations, and compliance with the No Surprises Act. Her healthcare practice is further supported by an extensive background in handling administrative appeals and conducting litigation risk evaluations for corporate transactions.
Earlier in her private practice career, Ms. Churvis honed her litigation skills at regional defense firms, where she managed diverse, high-volume insurance defense dockets. In these roles, she defended business entities and employers against complex premises liability, personal injury, and workplace claims, successfully steering cases from pre-suit investigations through depositions, motions practice, bench trials, and jury trial presentations.
Ms. Churvis began her legal career in public service, serving for two years as a Staff Attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. In this role, she conducted extensive research and drafted judicial opinions for federal appeals spanning constitutional law, civil rights, employment discrimination, and financial disputes.
Before entering the legal profession, Ms. Churvis spent over two decades in operational and corporate finance, serving as a financial administrator for a private entity and an operations analyst for a regional health board. This extensive corporate background provides her with a practical, sophisticated understanding of business operations and commercial risk management.
Ms. Churvis earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Georgia State University College of Law in 2016, where she was an active member of both the Law Review and the Moot Court Board. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia.
She is licensed to practice law in Georgia.
