Lisa Stempien is a senior associate in the Farmington Hills office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Stempien is a highly seasoned trial attorney and counselor with over two decades of comprehensive legal experience. She centers her practice on insurance defense, automotive liability, business and commercial litigation, labor and employment, and municipal liability.

Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Stempien served as In-house Counsel for a Southfield, Michigan firm, where she independently managed a full-cycle auto negligence litigation docket on behalf of a Michigan No-Fault insurer. For over fifteen years, she operated as a Managing Attorney handling an expansive, diverse client base. In this role, she developed specialized expertise across multiple complex litigation arenas, including serving as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Bureau of Workers' Compensation Second Injury Fund, defending felony matters in the Third Judicial Circuit Court Criminal Division, and executing procurement contracts and prosecutions for various Michigan municipalities.

Ms. Stempien has a sophisticated, end-to-end litigation lifecycle practice. She has extensive experience acting as first-chair in both bench and jury trials, managing aggressive motion and discovery practice, and steering complex alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Her background also includes robust contractual engagements with major legal networks and top-tier firms, advising on regulatory compliance, intellectual property, data security, and AI-assisted eDiscovery projects. Earlier in her career, she honed her commercial litigation and employment law skills as an associate attorney and second-chair trial counsel in Southfield and Plymouth.

Notably, she also has a distinguished background in academia and professional training. Ms. Stempien has served as an Adjunct Professor of Business and Business Law for over six years at multiple graduate and undergraduate institutions, designing hybrid and on-campus curricula tailored for English language learners. She is highly accomplished in course construction, frequently researching and presenting specialized seminars for business owners, municipal teams, and continuing legal education (CLE) initiatives.

Ms. Stempien earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School and expanded her legal education abroad through the University of Detroit International Law Study Program in London, England. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University. Deeply committed to professional excellence and community service, she holds certificates from the ICLE Probate and Estates program and the CDAM Trial College, and she acts as a mentor and CLE trainer for public interest legal incubators.

She is licensed to practice law in Michigan.
