Lynsey A. Welch is an associate in the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice on the defense of employers and carriers in workers' compensation claims from inception of matter through trial and administrative review process through investigation. Ms. Welch is also involved in protecting employers' rights in state and federal courts. She represents public and private employers, insurance companies, and third party administrators against a wide range of employment-related claims including employment discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful terminations. Her civil litigation practice encompasses representing defendants in motor vehicle and premises liability claims, personal injury and wrongful death actions, and negligence and toxic tort matters.
For over 15 years, Ms. Welch has successfully litigated cases before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission. In addition to negotiating claims, her practice involves providing legal advice to large insurance companies, corporate counsel and employers regarding all aspects of claim handling, settlement negotiation, preventative law issues, contract negotiations, and trial or appellate strategy.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Welch was a partner with a regional Midwest law firm specializing in the management and defense of workers' compensation claims, where she handled complex and high-dollar claims in workers' compensation, toxic tort, and general insurance tort claims.
Ms. Welch received her Juris Doctor cum laude from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2005 and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois in 2002. While in law school, she served as an associate editor of the Northern Illinois Law Review.
Ms. Welch is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
