Margaret Hassan is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mrs. Hassan focuses her practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, insurance and insurers, general litigation, and personal injury claims, with a specialization in worker's compensation defense.
Mrs. Hassan manages of all aspects of worker's compensation defense. She assesses incoming correspondence and medical records, to skillfully handle the filing of petitions for benefits, motions to compel, and all other necessary pleadings to guide a case through the Office of Judges of Compensation Claims. Her deep knowledge allows her to effectively evaluate the merits of workers' compensation cases, providing guidance and counsel to her clients through clear and strategic communication, detailed medical review, and meticulous litigation preparation.
As a skilled negotiator, Mrs. Hassan actively engages with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel to secure maximum case values for her clients. Her expertise extends to securing essential benefits such as Total Temporary Disability (TTD), Total Permanent Disability (TPD), Permanent Total Disability (PTD), and vital medical treatment for plaintiffs.
Mrs. Hassan is committed to serving her community by dedicating her time to Pro Bono work, specifically to the Bay Area Legal Services, contributing to the Family Forms Clinic. Here, she assists self-represented litigants in completing their family law forms and packets, empowering them to initiate cases or respond to pending matters.
Mrs. Hassan earned her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, where she graduated in the top 5 of her class, finishing Magna Cum Laude. She also has her Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona and her Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University. She is licensed to practice law in Florida and has a license to practice real estate.
Beyond her practice, Mrs. Hassan is an avid traveler with a passion for exploring the world. Her international adventures have taken her to captivating destinations such as Brazil, Peru, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Italy, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates, including the vibrant cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. She serves as a Province President for Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society, overseeing school chapters throughout the state of Florida. She also enjoys watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play with her husband Mo, and most of all, fur parenting at home with her dogs, Roxy and Paco.
