Mark Kawinski is a partner in the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., bringing more than 34 years of experience to the firm's insurance defense and complex litigation groups. His practice focuses on representing national and regional insurance carriers, trucking companies, and self-insured entities in high-exposure litigation. He is a seasoned trial attorney with a career total exceeding 50 jury trials across numerous counties in Illinois. His practice focuses on insurance defense, complex litigation, trucking and transportation, general liability, and coverage evaluation.
Mr. Kawinski is an expert in strategic case oversight, partnering closely with claims professionals to evaluate litigation risk throughout the claim lifecycle. Throughout his career, he has established a record of success in managing complex matters involving liability, damages, and insurance coverage evaluation. Beyond his personal caseload, he has served in significant leadership roles, including as a managing partner where he mentored newly admitted attorneys and law students, fostering the next generation of legal talent.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Kawinski is a recognized voice in the legal community. He has frequently presented at professional legal and industry seminars on emerging trends in insurance practice and litigation management. His background as a senior legal advisor allows him to provide clients with an overarching view of their litigation exposure, ensuring that every case strategy is informed by a deep understanding of procedural guidance and executive-level communication.
In 1991, Mr. Kawinski earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma. He is deeply involved in the Illinois legal community, having served as an investigator for the Judicial Evaluation Committee of the Illinois State Bar Association and as a court-appointed Guardian Ad Litem.
