Mark E. Scott is a partner in the Atlanta office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Scott has a diverse law practice spanning over 25 years.  He focuses in the areas of general insurance defense, insurance coverage and bad faith claims ranging from motor vehicle negligence, bodily injury and uninsured/underinsured (UM/UIM) motorists to trucking claims, commercial property claims, professional liability including medical malpractice and long-term care defense, construction defect, slip and falls, premises liability, negligent security, and catastrophic injury claims and wrongful death matters. Mr. Scott's practice is also emphasized in governmental liability and civil rights defense (42 U.S.C. Section 1983), and the representation of employers in disputes involving allegations of wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, violation of leave laws, invasion of privacy, and other matters related to this area of practice. He has acted as first chair in jury trials throughout Georgia and has significant appellate briefing and argument experience.

Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Scott was an insurance defense attorney with an Atlanta law firm handling all aspects of automobile collision, premises liability and insurance coverage cases. Mr. Scott has served as managing attorney, senior trial attorney and staff attorney to several major insurance carriers and has served as bad faith counsel in third party actions, including monitoring the defense of the litigation as well as trial. In addition to his experience in handling commercial motor vehicle and premises liability claims, Mr. Scott also has substantial experience representing Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy actions. His practice has included business disputes, bank litigation, zoning and land use matters, landlord/tenant actions, and collections. Mr. Scott has also focused on municipal law matters while serving as City Attorney for the newly incorporated City of Milton, Georgia in 2006, where he reviewed, planned and developed city code and zoning ordinances and negotiated intergovernmental agreements with county and neighboring municipalities.

Throughout his years of practice, he has handled matters involving toxic tort including asbestos-containing products, pharmaceuticals, silica, construction accidents and defects, medical and nursing home malpractice and workers' compensation cases as staff counsel to a regional insurer.

Mr. Scott received his Juris Doctor from Temple University School of Law, Pennsylvania in 1995 and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Lebanon Valley College, Pennsylvania in 1986.

He served as a Captain in the United States Airforce, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma from 1987 to 1992 and was decorated and awarded for outstanding performance for his service as an AWACS Air Weapons Director and Ground Duty service.

Mr. Scott is licensed to practice law in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey (inactive).
