Markenson Pierre is a partner in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. With a diverse range of practice areas, Mr. Pierre's expertise lies in labor and employment, automotive liability, commercial and municipal litigation, and trucking and transportation defense.
Mr. Pierre has built a strong foundation in all aspects of civil litigation, representing clients with diligence in numerous federal and state court pleadings. As a lead attorney, he has represented clients in dozens of mediations, successfully advocating for their interests and achieving favorable outcomes. One notable case involved representing independent contractors in a Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) misclassification claim. Mr. Pierre has provided valuable counsel to employers on alleged violations of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). He has also prepared position statements in response to various charges of discrimination from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Prior to QPWB, Mr. Pierre represented several Florida police departments, where he defended against Civil Rights claims and obtained risk protection orders on behalf of the municipalities.
Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. Pierre served as a Logistics Officer in the U.S. Army for seven years on active duty. While on active duty, Mr. Pierre completed one deployment to Iraq and was also a Company Commander. Mr. Pierre is currently a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Mr. Pierre obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2018, and his Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2009.
He is licensed to practice law in Florida.
