Matthew K. Sato is an associate in the Boise Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Sato has litigated a broad range of practice areas, including torts, breach of contract, and family law, but is primarily focused on insurance defense, medical malpractice, and automotive liability. With a firm grasp of the rules of evidence, he drafts comprehensive reports for insurance clients, including various motions, briefs, and memoranda.
Spearheading discovery in numerous cases, Mr. Sato has first-chaired multiple criminal trials pursuant to a public defender contract. He has also second-chaired several complex civil trials, including a two-week, multi-million-dollar motor vehicle accident case in which he represented a local brake shop that performed brake work on a modified semi-truck minutes before it rear-ended the plaintiff. He successfully argued three motions for summary judgment, and despite allegations of a total brake failure, his client was found only 15% liable.
After graduating with dual degrees from Boise State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, in May 2018, Mr. Sato went on to pursue his Juris Doctor at the University of Idaho College of Law. He graduated in May 2022, serving as Chief Articles Editor and Senior Articles Editor of Idaho Critical Legal Studies.
Mr. Sato is licensed in both Idaho and Wyoming.
