Mel Ibarra is an associate in the Atlanta office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She brings diverse courtroom and litigation experience to her practice. Ms. Ibarra focuses her practice on civil litigation.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Ibarra served as an attorney for the City of Augusta, Georgia, where she litigated on behalf of over 100 clients, handled in-court hearings, and drafted motions, pleadings, discovery, and appeals. She also gained extensive experience in private practice as an associate attorney and paralegal, managing a full litigation caseload focused on family law and estate planning, conducting client consultations, and drafting pleadings and discovery, and jury trial. Ms. Ibarra applies her varied and zealous litigation skillset to every case to procure the best outcomes for her clients.
During her legal education, Ms. Ibarra was deeply committed to public interest advocacy and civil litigation. She served with the Child Endangerment & Sexual Exploitation Clinic, engaging in civil litigation on behalf of trafficking survivors. She also interned with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s domestic violence division, conducting client interviews and drafting temporary protective order petitions. Additionally, she served as the President of the Hispanic and Latino Law Student Association and secured thousands of dollars in sponsorships to secure funding for the organization for years to come.
Ms. Ibarra earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry Studies from California Polytechnic University Pomona. Active in the legal community, she also serves as a Notary Public and Registered Neutral (general civil mediator) in Georgia.
She is licensed to practice law in Georgia and South Carolina.
