Melanie Desautel is an associate in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Desautel brings a strong academic foundation and practical training in civil litigation, property disputes, and general liability matters. She focuses her practice on insurance defense, civil litigation, and general civil litigation.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Desautel gained valuable exposure to the litigation and trial process through a variety of legal residencies and volunteer efforts. She participated in numerous civil mediations involving contract and property disputes, gaining insight into opening statements, private caucuses, and settlement negotiations. Additionally, she engaged in intensive trial advocacy seminars, where she worked alongside Florida attorneys and Circuit Court judges to navigate trial exercises, evidentiary arguments, and courtroom procedures.
Ms. Desautel's professional background also includes significant community advocacy. She co-founded a child advocacy organization to connect students with practitioners and raise awareness of children's legal rights. Furthermore, she has volunteered with legal professionals to assist individuals in securing essential identification documents to facilitate access to healthcare, housing, and employment.
Ms. Desautel earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2025. During her legal studies, she ranked in the top 10% of her class. Before law school, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2021, where she was a consistent Dean's List recipient.
She is licensed to practice law in Florida.
