Melissa M. Lipnick is an associate in the West Palm Beach Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice on healthcare and is involved in litigation and regulatory compliance in the representation of hospitals, physicians, dentists, health plans, health insurers, nursing and assisted living facilities, and other healthcare professionals. Ms. Lipnick handles matters involving the representation of physicians, nurses, dentists, and other healthcare providers in long-term care, assisted living facilities and nursing home defense; in addition to medical malpractice, her practice also includes general litigation.
Prior to commencing private practice, Ms. Lipnick was an Equal Justice Works Fellow sponsored by The Florida Bar Foundation at the Florida Health Justice Project. In this project-based fellowship, she engaged in individual and systemic advocacy to expand access and address barriers to Medicaid home health care enabling more low-income Florida seniors to access these services. Ms. Lipnick represented individuals enrolled in Florida's Medicaid Long-Term Care Waiver. She worked with community partners and stakeholders on issues affecting older adults including analysis of legislation and policy work. Prior to joining QPWB, she was an associate attorney at a large defense litigation firm where she defended claims against health care professionals and represented long-term care facilities, physicians, and other health care providers in matters involving negligence and statutory violations in civil negligence claims and administrative actions.
Ms. Lipnick earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2021 and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Miami in 2017. During law school, Ms. Lipnick demonstrated her dedication by clerking for the Florida Health Justice Project, serving as a fellow and legal intern at the Miami Law Health Rights Clinic, and interning at the Broward County Public Defender's Office.
In May 2023, she achieved a significant milestone by obtaining the Robert Traurig-Greenberg Traurig Master of Laws in Real Property Development from the University of Miami, widely regarded as the nation's best and ranked a Top 10 Real Estate Law Program worldwide.
Licensed to practice law in Florida, Ms. Lipnick is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French and Italian.
