Michael Henry is a partner in the New York City office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Focusing on civil litigation, Mr. Henry's areas of practice encompass commercial litigation, creditor bankruptcy, and the statutory provisions of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA Trust). Mr. Henry is also spearheading the growth of an Election and Political law practice group.
Mr. Henry is admitted to practice in the State of New York, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Henry set precedent in the Eastern District of New York when Judge Brian M. Cogan concluded that a federal court's subject-matter jurisdiction in a PACA case was not contingent upon the plaintiff's satisfaction of the various elements of a PACA claim. A&B Alt. Mktg. Inc. v. Int'l Quality Fruit Inc., 21-542-cv (May 31). This decision was upheld on appeal by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Henry owned a New York City based, boutique law firm that specialized in commercial litigation, creditor bankruptcy and PACA Trust. Mr. Henry has successfully recovered millions of dollars in assets for clients ranging from billion-dollar banks to small business owners.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Henry was employed in the mortgage industry, where he successfully managed employees, branch offices, millions of dollars in loans, handled regulatory monitoring with the NY Department of Financial Services, as well as compliance and auditing matters in dealings with the New York Department of Financial Services.
Mr. Henry spent time abroad earning his M.A. in International Relations with an additional Graduate Certification in International Law and Diplomacy. He is a member of multiple Italian American Lawyers Associations.
Mr. Henry is a trustee for a multi-million-dollar healthcare and pension fund. Mr. Henry has appeared as a legal and political analyst on local and national television and talk radio programs, authored columns on a variety of topics, was published in the New York Law Journal, and has worked with political organizations and political candidates throughout the United States.
