Michael Pope is a partner in the Boise Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Pope is a seasoned civil litigator with more than two decades of experience handling complex matters from inception through trial and appeal. He brings a blend of courtroom skills and practical problem-solving to every case, with a career built around guiding clients through their most intricate and challenging disputes. His background includes major-firm practice, insurance defense leadership, and founding and leading his own firms, giving him a full-spectrum view of litigation from every angle.
Mr. Pope concentrates his practice on civil litigation, insurance defense and coverage, personal injury litigation, real property disputes, governance and compliance matters, and regulatory issues. He has extensive experience in deposition practice, examinations under oath, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial work. He has served as first chair in multiple jury trials, securing defense verdicts and reduced verdicts based on comparative negligence findings, and has successfully tried breach of contract cases resulting in both plaintiff and defense verdicts in the same proceeding.
Having drafted appellate briefs and presented oral argument before the Idaho Supreme Court in multiple matters, Mr. Pope is also a highly experienced appellate advocate. He has addressed cases that handle the Idaho Bail Act, procedural dismissal standards, administrative license suspensions, and the Common Fund Doctrine. His appellate work has shaped important interpretations of Idaho law.
Throughout his career, Mr. Pope has handled a wide range of civil matters including insurance defense, subrogation, landlord-tenant disputes, fire and premises liability claims, dog-bite litigation, contract disputes, personal injury, workers' compensation, foreclosure and eviction matters, bankruptcy-related litigation, and professional and regulatory complaints. He is known for his ability to manage complex caseloads, coordinate strategy with insurers and business clients, and resolve cases efficiently through negotiation, mediation, or trial when necessary.
Mr. Pope earned his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University.
Licensed to practice in Idaho and Washington, Mr. Pope is admitted in the Federal District of Idaho. Mr. Pope's approach is grounded in preparation, clarity, and results.
