Minton P. Mayer is co-managing partner of the Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee offices of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.  Mr. Mayer's practice is focused on the representation of long-term care providers, assisted living facilities, health care providers, hospitals, nurse staffing, home health agencies and skilled nursing facilities in arbitration, trial and appeal throughout Tennessee and Arkansas. Mr. Mayer has extensive experience representing religious institutions and faith-based non-profits including claims involving sexual misconduct.  Mr. Mayer continues to practice in all areas of insurance defense including automobile liability, professional liability, product liability, intentional torts, premises liability and general liability and casualty. He has extensive trial experience and is also listed by the Tennessee Supreme Court as a Rule 31 General Civil Mediator.  Mr. Mayer has attained the highest Peer Review Rating(TM) of AV® Preeminent(TM) from Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory.

Mr. Mayer's professional practice and volunteer experience as general counsel and president of a nursing home provide him with unique insight into the operations, compliance, risk management and board functions of long-term care providers.

Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Mayer was a partner of a Tennessee civil litigation law firm where he represented businesses and health care entities such as long-term care facilities, nursing homes, as well as health care providers. In addition to medical malpractice defense, his practice is also focused in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death matters and professional negligence defense. Mr. Mayer has practiced as a civil litigation attorney in Memphis since 1996; his experience also includes general business litigation, fidelity bond litigation, securities litigation and products liability.

Mr. Mayer received his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 1996 and Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Kent State University in Ohio in 1991.  

He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Arkansas and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts of Tennessee; U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas; the Supreme Court of Tennessee; and the Supreme Court of Arkansas.  Mr. Mayer is a member of the Memphis Bar Association, Tennessee State Bar Association, Arkansas State Bar Association, and Defense Research Institute (DRI).
