Michelle M. O'Brien is a partner in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation and general insurance defense, including matters involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death, premises liability, negligent security actions, automobile liability, product liability, construction defect, professional liability, subrogation, insurance coverage, and first-party property claims.
Ms. O'Brien's previous experience as an associate attorney with a Miami insurance defense law firm includes assisting with the representation of contractors and subcontractors in construction defect litigation in South Florida. Her civil trial experience includes her participation as a second chair during a three-week jury trial involving the defense of a multi-million dollar negligent security claim resulting in a defense verdict. Prior to entering private practice, she was an assistant state attorney with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami, where she prosecuted felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases including multiple first-chair jury trials.
Ms. O'Brien received her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2006 and Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University in 2003. While in law school, she was a staff editor of the Business Law Review and served as a certified legal intern with the State Attorney's Office, Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami.
Ms. O'Brien is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar. She is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
