Patrick T. Berton is an associate in the Orlando Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Berton is an insurance defense litigation specialist with experience managing a substantial caseload and excelling in depositions, settlements, hearings, motions, pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, compulsory medical exams, pre-trial disclosures, and trial preparation.
Before joining QPWB, Mr. Berton gained significant experience at a specialized insurance defense litigation law firm. Starting initially as a legal clerk, he quickly advanced to handle over 30 personal injury insurance defense cases. Notably, he played an integral role in helping the firm overcome the challenges posed by the Florida 2023 Tort Reform. Alongside his colleagues, he successfully managed a high-volume caseload, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and expertise in the field. He applies the extensive knowledge obtained over the past year to secure favorable outcomes for his clients.
Mr. Berton graduated summa cum laude from Lynn University in just three years, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Criminal Justice and International Affairs. Despite a demanding schedule, he worked 20 to 40+ hours a week in the award-winning Office of Admission, participated in numerous clubs and organizations, and maintained a rigorous academic load of at least 18 credits each semester.
While earning his Juris Doctor from Penn State University, Mr. Berton interned at U.S. Steel and T.E. Connectivity in their in-house legal departments during his 1L and 2L summers. He also joined the Penn State Law Entrepreneurship Assistance Clinic during law school, which is a free legal clinic dedicated to helping start-ups, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.
Licensed to practice law in Florida, Mr. Berton is an energetic, hardworking, and driven attorney. His inspiring personal journey includes going from being in a wheelchair for eight years to walking with a walker, all while being visually impaired. He contributes countless community service and volunteer hours to non-profits like the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Impacted, Inc.
