Russell Karr is a partner in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. With over four decades of litigation experience, he manages complex casualty matters from inception through jury trial and final resolution. His practice focuses on the defense of personal injury, trucking and transportation, automotive liability, premises liability, product liability, wrongful death, and insurance coverage defense.
A veteran litigator, Mr. Karr possesses an extensive trial record, having tried approximately 100 jury trials to verdict in Florida courts. He is highly proficient in all phases of litigation, including the strategic management of discovery, witness preparation, and the drafting of persuasive trial briefs. His technical expertise in insurance law is further supported by years of experience serving as house counsel for major national insurance carriers, providing him with a unique understanding of the internal priorities and evaluation processes of the insurance industry.
Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to navigate high-stakes litigation for both insureds and carriers. His background includes significant work in uninsured motorist cases and complex coverage disputes, where he provides critical liability assessments and exposure evaluations. This depth of experience allows him to effectively represent a wide range of clients in the most challenging personal injury and property damage matters.
In 1980, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. Mr. Karr also holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
Mr. Karr is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He has maintained an "AV" Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 2005, reflecting the highest level of professional excellence and ethical standards.
