Samantha D. Preston is a partner in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice on insurance defense, including personal injury, premises liability, tort litigation and first party property, insurance coverage disputes and bad faith claims.
Prior to joining QPWB, she was an associate with a Florida-based insurance defense law firm in Miami, focusing on first party property litigation, insurance coverage disputes and carrier representation.
Ms. Preston received her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in May 2011 and Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Spelman College, Atlanta, Georgia in December 2007, graduating with a major in English. While in law school, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Race and Social Justice Law Review. She also participated in Street Law, a youth advocacy program, where she taught high school students about law, the legal system, and skills in critical thinking.
Ms. Preston was selected to serve as a judicial intern to Florida Supreme Court Justice, the Honorable R. Fred Lewis.
After finishing her internship with the Florida Supreme Court, she clerked with two law offices in South Florida where she gained valuable experience working exclusively on first and third party insurance defense matters. She commenced private practice as an associate with a Coral Gables boutique insurance defense law firm where she mainly focused on workers' compensation cases.
Ms. Preston is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar.
