Sarah L. Thelemaque is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Thelemaque practice includes administrative law, appellate law, contractual disputes, general liability, and insurance defense. She also represents clients in cases involving negligent security, premises liability, product liability, property damage, wrongful death, and regulatory compliance.
Before joining QPWB, Ms. Thelemaque served as a judicial clerk and staff attorney for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. In that role, she advised judges across family, civil, criminal, probate, and appellate divisions, conducted legal research, prepared bench orders and legal memoranda, and supported judicial proceedings in both trial and appellate matters.
Her background also includes work with taxpayer advocacy and community service. As a student representative with the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, she represented individuals in tax controversies before the IRS, drafting legal memoranda and advising on tax consequences. She further developed her expertise as an advanced certified tax preparer with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, preparing and reviewing returns for low-income individuals and families.
Ms. Thelemaque earned her Juris Doctor, with a concentration in Tax Law, from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2022, where she was a member of the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review. She is currently pursuing a Master of Laws at the University of Miami School of Law, with a concentration in International Taxation, High-Net-Worth Individuals, and Business Taxation (expected 2025). She received her Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in Criminal Justice from Florida International University in 2017 and holds dual Associate degrees in Pre-Law Studies (Honors) and Paralegal Studies from Miami Dade College.
Fluent in both English and Haitian Creole, Ms. Thelemaque is active in the legal community through her involvement with the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association, the Haitian Lawyers Association, the Caribbean Bar Association, and the Miami-Dade Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College.
Ms. Thelemaque is admitted to practice law in Florida.
