Saranya Murugaiyan is an associate in the San Francisco Bay Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., concentrating her practice on business and commercial litigation, bodily injury, property damage, intellectual property and internet law, regulatory compliance, landlord-tenant disputes, and contract preparation and negotiation. Her diverse background allows her to navigate complex challenges with precision, strategy, and a solutions-oriented mindset, qualities that align with the firm's commitment to delivering practical and efficient results for clients.
Ms. Murugaiyan brings more than a decade of international and domestic legal experience spanning litigation, corporate advisory, and intellectual property matters. Her background includes managing business litigation and personal injury cases, preparing responsive pleadings and discovery, interviewing witnesses, drafting client reports, developing case budgets, and formulating settlement and case-management strategies.
Previously, Ms. Murugaiyan built a strong foundation in intellectual property, corporate governance, and commercial transactions through extensive work on both advisory and prosecution matters. Her responsibilities included independently managing IP portfolios, overseeing prosecution workflows, and supporting complex disputes and enforcement efforts. She played a key role in closing a multimillion-dollar corporate transaction, drafted a wide range of agreements, including PE/VC, M&A, and bespoke commercial contracts, and provided guidance on governance, compliance, and general corporate matters. Her background also includes experience with trademark and patent strategy, employment law advisory services, client intake, fee agreements, and billing, giving her a comprehensive operational perspective that enhances her litigation and transactional practice.
In 2012, Ms. Murugaiyan earned her Master of Laws from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the School of Excellence in Law at the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, where she graduated with First Class Honours.
Ms. Murugaiyan is admitted to the State Bar of California and the California Southern District Court. She is also licensed with the State Bar Council of Tamil Nadu, India.
