Scott G. Miller is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He focuses on representing national and regional insurers, corporations, private individuals and insurance carriers in litigation on claims involving first-party property insurance coverage matters and casualty claims.
In addition to representing insurance coverage matters in first-party actions arising from such diverse perils as sinkhole, hail, windstorm, fire, mold, water losses, and fraud, he also handles general liability cases including automobile negligence claims, premise liability, product liability, liquor liability actions, personal injury and wrongful death matters.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Miller worked as an attorney at the Hillsborough County Public Defender's Office where he represented clients during trials, arraignments, dispositions, status interviews and pre-trials, assuming responsibility for all phases of motion practice, and legal research and writing, and strategizing and plea bargaining. Previously, he held a legal assistant position within a regional law firm for several years aiding supervising attorneys with the preparation of appellate briefs for cases within the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit.
Mr. Miller received his Juris Doctor cum laude from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2015 and Bachelor of Science in accounting from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia in 2002. While in law school, he held legal internships with a civil defense law firm and the felony division of Hillsborough County Public Defender's Office. He also served as resource editor to the law review and as teacher's assistant to a scholarly writing class.
He is licensed to practice law in Florida.
