Shelby Roberts is an associate in the Farmington Hills office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Roberts brings a strong foundation in administrative advocacy, case analysis, and client counseling to the firm. She centers her practice on insurance defense litigation, administrative law, civil litigation, estate planning, and general liability matters.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Roberts served as an associate in the Social Security Disability Department of a Michigan regional firm. In this role, she managed all stages of the administrative hearing process, regularly representing clients before administrative law judges and drafting persuasive appellate and hearing briefs. Her practice relied heavily on the meticulous review of expansive administrative agency files, earning records, and complex medical documentation to synthesize legal arguments and provide clear strategic counsel to her clients. She was also instrumental in running the firm's intake system, personally interviewing potential clients and executing detailed legal risk assessments to determine case viability.
Ms. Roberts' legal experience also encompasses foundational work in civil practice, corporate operations, and transactional drafting. As a law clerk for a municipal and civil defense firm in Southgate, she drafted contracts and procedural addenda for regional school districts, built comprehensive estate plans, and prepared core court filings for active civil litigation proceedings. Furthermore, during her academic career, she served as a student clinician with the MSU Law Housing Law Clinic, where she conducted critical legal research, navigated the Eviction Diversion Program, assisted supervising attorneys in finalizing settlement agreements, and provided formal representation at hearings.
Ms. Roberts earned her Juris Doctor from the Michigan State University College of Law in 2021, where she achieved Dean's List honors. She also completed her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, earning both a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (2017) and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology and Zoology (2016), with a minor in the History, Philosophy, and Sociology of Science, while consistently maintaining Dean's List placement.
