Z. Suzanne Arbide is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Arbide’s practice draws on more than 25 years in the areas of commercial litigation, products liability, community association litigation, insurance defense and coverage matters, general liability defense, personal injury actions, professional liability defense, foreclosure litigation, and the representation of employers and management in employment law matters.
Ms. Arbide’s practice also includes representing lenders and investors against claims arising under consumer protection and alleged federal and state regulatory violations including the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedure Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and state fair lending and deceptive trade practice laws.
Ms. Arbide has effectively resolved disputed claims for clients in a wide variety of unique and challenging cases using a combinations of skills in negotiation, litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She has extensive experience in bench and jury trials.
Previously, and for over 10 years, Ms. Arbide was a senior level attorney handling specialized insurance defense matters with a regional insurance defense law firm where she represented insurance carriers on insurance coverage disputes. Her practice involved serving as general counsel for a property management corporation and a community association. Ms. Arbide represented corporations in commercial litigation, administrative proceedings, before quasi-judicial and administrative agencies of government; she represented schools, general contractors, condominium and homeowners’ associations in a wide variety of challenging cases, including construction defect, homeowner association’s liability, errors and omissions disputes, and directors and officers in professional liability matters. Ms. Arbide also advised top management on business, operations, and regulatory compliance, and negotiated management services agreements.
Ms. Arbide commenced her legal career in 1999 as an associate attorney with an insurance defense law office in South Florida where she achieved favorable rulings on motion for summary judgment in product liability, legal malpractice and insurance coverage dispute cases, she also sat second chair in bench and jury trials. Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Arbide was a senior level trial attorney with a commercial litigation and general liability law firm representing clients in breach of contract, specific performance matters, tortious interference with contracts, property and personal injury litigation and in all the areas where she practices.
Ms. Arbide received her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1998 and Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from Florida International University.
She is licensed to practice law in Florida and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
