Sydney D. Goodhand is a partner in the Scottsdale, Arizona office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice in the areas of professional and general liability defense, including medical malpractice, correctional healthcare, and long term care facility defense.
Before joining QPWB, Ms. Goodhand was a deputy county attorney in the Maricopa County Attorney's Office prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases receiving Bureau Attorney of the Month in January 2018. She also clerked at the appeals bureau.
Ms. Goodhand received her Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School in May 2015 and Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from the University of Arizona in May 2011, graduating with a major in Classical Civilization. While in law school, she was a recurring member of the Dean's List. She was awarded Best Memorial at the Rocky Mountain Regional Rounds of the International Moot Court Competitions and was awarded Best Oralist. She also worked at the Minneapolis City Attorney's office, clerked with the U.S. Attorney's Office, and served as a judicial intern at the Hennepin County District Court.
Ms. Goodhand is licensed to practice law in Arizona, Minnesota, and Texas. She is a member of the Claims and Litigation Management (CLM) Alliance and the Defense Research Institute (DRI) where she is a Steering Committee member of Women in the Law, and Co-Chair of the PR, Communications & Research Subcommittee.
