Thomas J. Hayes a partner in the Chicago hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Hayes devotes his practice to the handling of complex civil litigation matters for both individuals and business entities of all sizes, from Fortune 100 companies to family-owned businesses. His experience includes serving as lead trial counsel on dozens of cases involving shareholder disputes, business torts, employment and breach of contract disputes, product liability, premises liability, probate and estate litigation, construction disputes, medical malpractice, and class action disputes in multiple jurisdictions.
Mr. Hayes has substantial experience conducting investigations on behalf of private and government agencies. While a member at the Illinois Attorney General's Office, he assisted with several investigations into allegations of consumer and charitable fraud. In the private sector, he has been engaged by private corporations to investigate allegations of wrongdoing allegedly committed by employees.
For more than 15 years, Mr. Hayes practiced commercial litigation with large firms in throughout the Chicago area. Earlier in his career, he served as Assistant Attorney General in the Illinois Attorney General's Office in Chicago.
In 2016, he was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Illinois Super Lawyers, a designation honoring lawyers under the age of 40 or who have been in practice for 10 years or less and who are recognized as outstanding attorneys using peer reviews and an assessment of professional accomplishments. Only 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state are selected to this list each year.
Mr. Hayes is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, Central District of Illinois, Southern District of Illinois, and Eastern District of Wisconsin.
In the community, Mr. Hayes serves as a basketball coach for St. John of the Cross Catholic School in Western Springs, IL, and is a member of the Fenwick High School Father's Club.
