Valerie M. Jackson is a partner in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.  She is a trial lawyer and has handled all types of civil cases, including complex commercial litigation and transactions, personal injury, premises liability, tort litigation and insurance coverage disputes (first and third party) and bad faith claims. Additionally, she represents general contractors, subcontractors, distributors, manufacturers and design professionals in all areas of construction litigation and transactional capacity in civil, federal and alternative dispute resolution venues.

Ms. Jackson also advises clients on bad faith avoidance techniques and pre-litigation strategies. Ms. Jackson leads QPWB's e-discovery team which assists clients from the informational governance stage through trial.

Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Jackson was a partner with a Florida civil litigation law firm where she litigated and managed all cases involving first party property claims in Miami, Broward County and Palm Beach Counties and represented clients in complex litigation matters involving all of her current areas of practice.

Previously, as a litigation associate with a full-service national law firm, she handled insurance defense, bad faith litigation and insurance coverage in state and federal courts. She also practiced with two South Florida boutique law offices specializing in insurance defense and coverage matters, medical malpractice defense and employment law.

Ms. Jackson spent a year as court attorney to New York State Supreme Court Justice Donna Mills where she served in a confidential capacity to the judge.

Ms. Jackson received her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 1996 as well as a Master of Laws in International Law in 1999; she received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Long Island University in 1992 graduating with the Schwat/Weigand Award for academic achievement in political science.

Ms. Jackson is licensed to practice law in Florida and New York and is a member of The Florida Bar and State Bar of New York.  She is also admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
