Wanda Ghant is an associate in the Atlanta office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. An accomplished attorney and Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Ghant brings a powerful dual perspective to her legal advocacy, combining clinical healthcare experience with civil litigation skills. She concentrates her practice on medical malpractice defense, premises liability, personal injury defense, and complex general liability matters.
Ms. Ghant leverages her deep healthcare background to evaluate complex medical standards of care, conduct precise causation analysis, and formulate key defense strategies. Prior to joining QPWB, she served as an associate attorney at a personal injury and litigation firm in Atlanta, where she managed high-exposure medical malpractice, premises liability, and injury claims. In this role, she routinely conducted and defended depositions of fact witnesses and expert parties, led expert witness discovery, argued motions, and successfully achieved multi-million-dollar outcomes through direct negotiations and mediation.
Her legal experience also encompasses public advocacy and solo legal practice. As an Assistant Public Defender with the Georgia Public Defender Council for the Atlanta Judicial Circuit, Ms. Ghant represented clients across a wide array of criminal proceedings, collaborating with investigators and social services to build trial strategies and secure alternative sentencing options. As a solo practitioner, she represented disabled individuals, workers, and military veterans before the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Board of Veterans' Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission, and the Social Security Administration. Her commitment to service is further reflected in her extensive history as a pro bono and contract attorney supporting family law and estate planning clinics.
Ms. Ghant earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2011 with a concentration in Litigation and Advocacy. During law school, she served as a Staff Editor for the Journal of Land and Development and was selected as a Student Litigation Fellow at the Stephen L. Snyder Center for Litigation Skills. Notably, she also holds a Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, both earned from Howard University.
Ms. Ghant is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Maryland.
