William "Sonny" Grubbs is managing partner of the Tallahassee office at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., and also practices from the firm's Jackson, Mississippi office.  Mr. Grubbs focuses his practice in the areas of insurance defense, medical malpractice, nursing home defense litigation, mass tort litigation and entertainment law.  His practice also includes matters involving catastrophic and/or traumatic premises liability claims related to hotels, apartment complexes, and construction defects.  Mr. Grubbs also has experience in the representation of condominium associations and their board members for claims related to board management, association disputes, and management disputes.

Mr. Grubbs has represented insurance defense matters since he commenced private practice in 2000.  In this area, he has handled a broad range of professional claims related to all aspects of healthcare, including nursing homes, adult living facilities, hospitals, home health agencies, physicians, medical directors, administrators, nurses, and radiologists.  He represents attorneys, architects, and agents in professional liability matters and in errors and omissions claims.

In the entertainment industry, Mr. Grubbs' experience includes the representation of musical ensembles, rock bands, musicians, concert promotion companies and event promoters as well as traditional non-entertainment clients doing business in the entertainment industry.  Mr. Grubbs has represented these clients' interests in matters that have involved various disciplines of law, including contract negotiations, the active coordination and oversight of litigation, dispute resolution and risk management procedures on their behalf.

Mr. Grubbs received his Juris Doctor in 2000 from the Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson and his Bachelor of Science in history from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi.

Mr. Grubbs is licensed to practice law in the states of Florida, Georgia and Mississippi as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.  He is a member of The Florida Bar, the Mississippi Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Grubbs has been recognized as an Advocate by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars on topics concerning mass tort pharmaceutical, medical malpractice, long-term care claims, and on subjects regarding the prevention of legal malpractice claims and risk management.

Mr. Grubbs is a volunteer of Habitat for Humanity.
