Willa M. Fuqua is an associate in the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Fuqua resolves a broad range of civil litigation disputes involving medical malpractice defense, personal injury actions, and long term care and nursing home negligence.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Fuqua practiced with a personal injury law firm in Illinois, where she represented plaintiffs in state and federal courts in premises liability, products liability, auto accident, pharmacy malpractice, and wrongful death matters. Previously, she was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois, where she litigated over 30 appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Illinois Appellate Court.
After receiving her law degree, Ms. Fuqua clerked for the Chief District Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, where she managed scores of cases involving regulatory matters, torts, insurance, employment, real estate, and multimillion-dollar commercial disputes. She also clerked for a judge on the Missouri Court of Appeals, where she drafted over 50 appellate opinions in areas including medical malpractice, real estate, contracts, employment, torts, and general commercial matters.
Ms. Fuqua received her Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Tulane University in 2008. While in law school, she served as senior editor of the Washington University Law Review. She was also selected to serve externships with judges on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Missouri Court of Appeals.
Ms. Fuqua is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri. She is a former board member of the LAGBAC: Chicago's LGBTQ+ Bar Association.
