William "Bill" M. Petti is an associate in the Los Angeles Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where he focuses his practice on professional liability defense, business and commercial litigation, and regulatory compliance. Mr. Petti has successfully represented clients in complex litigation matters, including payment processing disputes, securities and financial services litigation, and employment law. His experience extends to both state and federal courts, where he has handled cases from pre-litigation strategy through trial.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Petti defended attorneys in professional liability claims and successfully secured favorable outcomes before the State Bar of California's Office of Chief Trial Counsel. He has also independently obtained a money judgment in a civil bench trial and managed high-stakes litigation involving complex financial and contractual disputes.
Mr. Petti's background includes experience as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he provided strategic recommendations on government dismissals of qui tam actions under the False Claims Act. Additionally, he served as an Honors Program Legal Intern at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he assisted in regulatory examinations of investment advisors and financial institutions.
Leveraging his litigation and compliance experience, Mr. Petti advocates protecting his clients' interests and developing unique strategies. He has published multiple articles on regulatory issues and has been a featured guest on legal and financial industry podcasts discussing compliance and litigation trends.
Graduating cum laude from the California Western School of Law, Mr. Petti not only excelled in corporate finance and securities regulation research, but he was also recognized with multiple American Jurisprudence Awards for his outstanding academic achievements. Before law school, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Law from the University of Arizona with academic honors.
Mr. Petti is admitted to practice law in California and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Central and Southern Districts of California. Outside of his practice, he is a former Division 1 rugby player and remains active in the rugby community.
