Yujie (Jay) Zhang, is an associate in the Glendale Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Zhang's practice is emphasized in the areas of construction defects, bodily injury, property damage, wrongful discharge, harassment and discrimination, as well as landlord-tenant disputes, contract preparation, negotiation, and judgment collections.
Mr. Zhang's background spans complex civil litigation, motion practice, and case strategy across multiple jurisdictions. He has drafted complaints, answers, motions, Ex Parte filings, and supporting memoranda in a wide range of disputes, including civil litigation, personal injury, tort matters, and premises liability. His experience also includes legal research on case law to support litigation strategy, jurisdictional issues, notice requirements, and defenses in civil claims.
Earlier in his career, he worked for a "Red Circle" law firm based in Beijing, China, specializing in bankruptcy and restructuring. He contributed to large-scale commercial projects, led research teams, developed restructuring plans, and participated in arbitration and litigation matters involving significant commercial interests. His work has required frequent coordination with courts, creditors, investors, and government entities, strengthening his ability to navigate multifaceted disputes efficiently and strategically.
Shaped by a diverse international legal education, Mr. Zhang earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), J.D. equivalent, from Southwest University of Political Science & Law in China as part of the competitive "Experimental Class of Academic Talents," graduating in the top 2% of his class. Mr. Zhang went on to his LL.M. from UCLA School of Law, where he received scholarship awards. He also holds an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where he served as an Associate Editor for both the Asian Law Review and the Journal of International Law, participated in leadership research projects, and competed in mock trial.
Outside of work, Jay also enjoys late-night gym workouts, and a good suspense movie. Fluent in Mandarin, he enjoys Manpop Music and exploring authentic restaurants from diverse cultures in the city.
Mr. Zhang is licensed to practice law in California. He is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Central Districts of California.
