Yuriko Shikai serves as Of Counsel in the Los Angeles Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Shikai works closely with businesses and individuals to navigate a wide array of civil disputes, including matters related to contracts, real estate, corporate structure, and insurance liability. She has represented financial institutions, contractors, landlords, healthcare organizations, and manufacturers in state and federal courts and in arbitrations.
Drawing from a diverse litigation background, Ms. Shikai has handled cases at both trial and appellate levels, including successful outcomes in complex matters such as specific performance of commercial real estate contracts and intentional interference with business relationships. Her practice also includes representing clients in commercial contract disputes, foreclosure actions, landlord-tenant matters, and bankruptcy proceedings.
She has played a key role in high-profile and multi-party litigation, including class action defense, civil rights matters, construction defect disputes, and environmental nuisance cases. Her ability to handle intricate litigation and deliver strategic legal solutions has made her a trusted advisor to clients navigating high-stakes legal challenges.
Ms. Shikai earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Southwestern University School of Law. While there, she served on the Southwestern Law Review and received the Bluebook Award for Outstanding Editing, along with CALI Awards in Survey of Federal Income Tax and in Legal Research and Writing. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 1985.
Fluent in Japanese, Ms. Shikai brings a unique perspective to her practice. She is also a 6th-degree black belt in kendo and has represented Team USA at the World Kendo Championships. A former U.S. Women's Kendo Champion, she applies the same discipline and precision to her practice.
Licensed to practice law in California, Ms. Shikai is admitted in all California Courts and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
