ATLANTA ― We are pleased to introduce our newest Workers’ Compensation Practice team members David S. Dix, Meredith L. Knight, and Carolina V. Martin.
David S. Dix is a partner in the Atlanta office focused in the area of Workers’ Compensation defending insurers and insureds, third party administrators, individuals and employers, in all stages of litigation, and before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation and appellate courts, including the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Georgia Supreme Court. He applies his knowledge in Workers’ Compensation to assist business clients in identifying potential pitfalls, and how best to navigate complicated legal requirements to minimize exposure and avoid litigation before on-the-job accidents happen. Mr. Dix's experience includes identifying leverage and other cost savings measures. He received his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2007 and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan in 2003. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia.
Meredith L. Knight is a partner in the Atlanta office with over 15 years of Workers’ Compensation defense experience including representing employers, insurers and third party administrators in the courtroom. This experience includes assisting clients in implementation of effective Workers’ Compensation procedures and programs. She is well versed in training programs and has experience hosting educational seminars. She also performs critical reviews of reporting policies and corporate manuals. Ms. Knight received her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2006 and Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago in 2001, graduating with a major in English. She is licensed to practice law in Georgia and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Carolina V. Martin is an attorney in the Nashville, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia offices. She focuses on Workers’ Compensation disputes, labor and employment, immigration, transportation, premises liability, insurance coverage and other commercial litigation. Ms. Martin is a seasoned litigator with numerous depositions, discoveries, pleadings, motions, briefs and oral arguments at trial all in her repertoire. She has served as lead counsel for both civil and administrative courts and has experience mediating and negotiating claims. Ms. Martin received her Juris Doctor from Pace University, New York in 2013 and Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Purchase in 2010. She is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Tennessee. Ms. Martin is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
