Allen C. Macchiavello is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He concentrates his practice in the areas of first party property claims stemming from insurance coverage disputes, policy interpretation, and the application of policy exclusions arising from a wide variety of insurance products including general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, and professional liability. He defends property insurers on claims involving sinkhole, windstorm, fire, mold, theft, and water losses.
Mr. Macchiavello has worked for some of the largest American insurance companies for commercial property, casualty insurance and personal insurance. Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Macchiavello secured approval of health and life insurance products as a compliance analyst for an insurance company assisting with contracts and working with state insurance departments; he also monitored legislative and regulatory developments including healthcare laws and regulations affecting supplemental health products. He held a first party medical adjuster position where he conducted analysis and authentication of coverage and application of benefits. Previously, he was an auto claims adjuster investigating coverage and liability issues, determining damages, interpreting insurance contracts and negotiating settlements for bodily injury claims. Additionally, he held a law clerk position for an immigration and naturalization law firm drafting briefs in support of immigration benefits.
Mr. Macchiavello received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, Gulfport, Florida in December 2015 and Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida in May 2003, graduating with a major in History. He also received a certificate in paralegal studies from the University of Miami in August 2010. While in law school, he was a student member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Hispanic National Bar Association and the Florida Bar Young Lawyers – Law Division.
He is licensed to practice law in Florida.
In his community, he has volunteered within Hillsborough County’s Guardian Ad Litem Program and served as collaborator to Office of the Federal Public Defender.
Mr. Macchiavello is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French.
