Anabel M. Cordero is an associate in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Cordero focuses her practice on commercial litigation and in the areas of employment law, employment contracts, employment litigation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), wage and hour law, sexual harassment, wrongful termination. Her practice is also emphasized in the areas of insurance defense litigation, bodily injury defense including slip and fall claims, and general liability pertaining to first-party property coverage and defense, third-party claims and casualty matters, construction accident claims, automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability and negligent security.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Cordero was a Labor and Employment Law attorney practicing in the Miami office of a national law firm where she advised clients on all aspects of Florida and federal employment related litigation and transactional matters. Her practice included, but not limited to, human resource issues, wage and hour law, workers’ compensation, unemployment and other state agency claims, labor relations, employee benefits, employment agreements and policy related issues, Federal Medical Leave Act (FMLA) matters, and grievances and arbitrations. Ms. Cordero also worked as an associate attorney with an insurance defense law firm in Miami, where she handled first- and third-party insurance defense, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation claims, overseeing the entire case life through litigation and trial.
Ms. Cordero received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law, Fort Lauderdale, in May 2019 with a specialization in Health Law, and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University in December 2012. While in law school, she was a member of the ILSA Journal of International & Comparative Law.
Ms. Cordero is licensed to practice law in Florida and the District of Columbia and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
