Claire B. Carter is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Carter focuses her practice in the areas of insurance defense and first party property coverage actions involving losses due to sinkhole, water, windstorm, fire, theft and other property damage claims. Her practice encompasses policy interpretation and the application of policy exclusion arising from a variety of insurance products including general liability, motor vehicle liability, premises liability, negligent security, product liability, professional liability, construction defect, and employment practices claims.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Carter practiced as an associate attorney with two Tampa law offices focusing on insurance defense, business and corporate litigation, commercial and real estate transactions and litigation, and creditors’ rights.
Ms. Carter received her Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Estates and Trusts from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2010; she earned her Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the University of Florida in May 2007, graduating with a major in Romance Languages and Literatures (Spanish). While in law school, she served as a judicial extern with the Probate Division of the Eighth Judicial Circuit.
Ms. Carter is licensed to practice law in Florida and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. She is also a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
In her community, she volunteers with the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay, the GFWC St. Petersburg Junior Woman’s Club and the Hillsborough County Education Foundation “Taking Stock in Children.”
