James T. Munilla is an associate in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He practices in multiple aspects of insurance defense litigation specifically in construction defect claims and professional liability (architects and engineers) including premises liability, automotive accidents and general liability matters. Mr. Munilla is a civil engineer and member of the American Society of Civil Engineers since 2014; he has worked with various aspects of construction in both public and private projects and has developed an understanding of the issues relevant to the players in the construction industry.
Before joining QPWB, Mr. Munilla served as associate general counsel in Miami, Florida for a prominent construction management company. Besides resolving the company’s contractual and litigation needs, Mr. Munilla was a project engineer of the Miami-Dade Transit Lehman Test Track and was an assistant to the Field and Cost Engineer of the F.I.U. Football Stadium, where he tracked field work production and produced site progress reports. He also supervised and coordinated construction activities for building Puente De Las Americas (Bridge of Americas) in Panama as assistant to the Director of Operations in Panama.
Mr. Munilla received his Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law in 2018 and Bachelor of Science from Villanova University in May 2014, graduating with a major in Civil Engineering. During law school, he served as a legal intern with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida.
Mr. Munilla is licensed to practice law in Florida.
